Share A Smile - Mother's Day

This week Bob’s nursery held a Mother’s Day concert. It was wonderful! The children sang lots of songs and a few children were shown to show a picture they had painted of their plummy whilst the head teacher read out something they loved about them. Bob painted a lovely picture of me. The likeness is uncanny! Each child then gave their mummy a present. It was a canvas which they had painted some flowers on. I loved mine! I didn’t [click here to read on]

Beano Fun

Last weekend we were invited to the opening of a new Beano themed play area at the Old Brickworks Brewers Fayre. We have been to a Brewers Fayre before and Bob enjoyed the Beano colouring packs there so she already knew who Dennis The Menace and Gnasher were. When I asked her if she would like to go and meet them she was very excited! I was quite excited too! When I was a child I used to get the [click here to read on]

My New Cake Idol

I have been meaning to show you the Lightening McQueen cake that I made for my friend’s son for his birthday. It was quite some time ago and I have just found the photos on my computer. I love making cakes! The cakes I make are usually ‘ordinary’ shapes with the fancy bits made out of icing on the top. This is because I don’t trust myself to make a shaped cake. Unless you are making a fruit cake you [click here to read on]

Shopping For Daddy

When House Of Fraser asked me to share my thoughts on their Menswear Spring/Summer collection 2015 I panicked slightly as I knew that it would mean involving my husband. You may remember the last time I took Michael shopping. Although it ended well it didn’t start out that way.  I am hoping that the more shopping he does the more he will enjoy it. I remember countless trips to Meadowhall when Michael was only happy if we were stopping for [click here to read on]

Sooty ABC Review & Giveaway

About a year ago my mum found an old Sooty DVD on a car boot sale. Although the DVD was modern the show was from the 70’s. Bob absolutely loved it and watched it over and over again. It was filmed in a school and Matthew stood in front of the children with a little box and the puppets. It was very simple but Bob was obsessed with it. It was very dated and not very politically correct. At one [click here to read on]

Lovely Photographs

When we were staying with my wonderful friend in London she took some gorgeous photos of Bob which I wanted to share with you. Lesley is a brilliant photographer and she specialises in actors head shots. You can see examples of her work on her website. I don’t think Bob is quite ready for her acting debut just yet but these photos will definitely help her on her way. They show that she has many strings to her bow! Cheeky [click here to read on]

Internet Worries For Parents

A few weeks ago I was contacted asking if I would take part in a survey about tech worries for parents. This was part of some ongoing research by My Voucher Codes into the impact of social media and technology on our lives. I wasn’t sure how useful my answers would be as Bob is only young but I was happy to help. I was asked to choose how much things bothered me from not worried at all to extremely [click here to read on]
