Terrible Twosday (Not Just For Two Year Olds)

As my mum and dad live a couple of hours drive away we Skype every few days. Bob knows what is happening when I show her the laptop; she gets excited and stares at the screen. She loves seeing her Grandma and Granddad and she enjoys playing games with them through the magic of Skype. Occasionally I have to nip and get something and I leave Bob listening to my mum. This is where the terrible twos creep in. ;0) [click here to read on]

My First Mothers Day

As my husband was working on Sunday we pretended that it was Mothers Day on Saturday. We had such a lovely day! It started with the delivery of some flowers and a balloon. I was then presented with a gorgeous card (which Bob had written in herself) and a charm for my Pandora bracelet. Bob had chosen the charm! Her favorite toy is a pink, musical teapot and my husband said that she rang him last week, when he was at [click here to read on]

Cakes

I thought that I would show you some of my creations. I will show them to you in chronological order then, hopefully, you will be able to see how I improve. ;o) I’ll start with a Christmas cake that my husband and I made in 2009. To say he has never made anything before, I think he did really well. He made the Snowman and the Igloo. The following year I was asked to make some cupcakes for my brother [click here to read on]

I am convinced that Bob’s first word was Mummy! In January, we were in Edinburgh and Bob was asleep in the hotel room. She woke up and looked very confused, as she didn’t know where she was. She looked around, saw me and cried out ‘Mummy!’ it was crystal clear! Not ‘Mama,’ but ‘Mummy!’ of course, nobody else was around to hear it and she never said it again. For the last week she has said ‘Mama,’ usually when she [click here to read on]

Terrible Twosday (Not Just For Two Year Olds)

Last week saw the first of Bob’s tantrums! To say I was shocked is an understatement! She was happily playing with her shape sorter bus when, all of a sudden, she started screaming and hitting the bus. I was convinced that she must have hurt herself. Maybe she had trapped her finger? By the time I got to Bob she had pushed the bus away and was still screaming. On closer inspection I realise that something terrible had happened! Bob [click here to read on]

Dear Bob (What I Would Like For Mothers Day)

Dear Bob, Just thought I’d send you a little note to remind you that it is Mothers Day on Sunday. I know that you are probably too young to understand but I thought that I’d give it a shot! I don’t need flowers, I don’t need chocolates, but if you (your daddy) wish to get some for me I won’t object. There is just one thing that I would really like! SLEEP!!! I know you find this very difficult but [click here to read on]

A Christening Fit For A Princess

Although I now live in the midlands, I am originally from Burnley. I go back to visit as often as possible and, even though I am very settled here, I will always be a Lancashire Lass at heart. When it came to arranging Bob’s christening I began looking at places local to us, assuming we would hold it in our village church. When my husband suggested having it in my hometown I was over the moon. I used to go [click here to read on]
