Headless Cabbages

My home has become overrun with vintage Cabbage Patch Kids, or parts of them. I have been rescuing them and they have arrived in various states. Some just needed a wash but others needed their head removing to go through a rigorous cleaning process. I suppose this should be expected as they are 30 years old! Some of them have lost a fight with a felt tip pen or two and have needed to go to the salon for a [click here to read on]

...And They All Lived Happily Ever After

Bob and I love stories! We love reading books and we also love making stories up! When House Of Fraser said that they needed help to write an ending for the story of Fraser Bear we looked forward to taking part. I had to write the story and Bob had to illustrate it. Their story ends with Fraser Bear wondering how he can explain snow to his brother, Baby Bear, who has never seen it. Here is our ending. Disclaimer: [click here to read on]

A Curious Mind - Part 2

This morning I was getting Bob ready for nursery and she asked if she could wear her new big girls vests. These are just like her little girl vests but the straps are thinner and they don’t have a cartoon character on the front. I was fed up of Minnie Mouse peeping at me through Bob’s pale coloured t shirts! Bob wasn’t too keen on the idea at first and always opted to wear her old vests. That was until [click here to read on]

Gift Ideas for Every Family Member

There is a well-known Christmas maxim which is usually only muttered after a gift is received that the recipient is less than delighted with: “It’s the thought that counts”. This seems to prove that it is not, in fact, the thought that counts, but rather how happy the intended target of the gift is with the present. Therefore, here is a quick reference guide to buying gifts which aim to please rather than display misjudged ‘thought’. Mum After selflessly looking [click here to read on]

A Dog's Life

Many of you will have already ‘met’ Sally, the 4th member of our family. She regularly features on my blog so, when I was asked if I would like to review some pet products, I thought it would be nice for Sally to join in with our reviews. She is regularly in the background whilst we are reviewing products. She has clothes draped over her, toys thrown at her and very nearly got splattered in sparkly paint. This time the [click here to read on]

...And Relax!

Relaxing seems like hard work since Bob came along! She will only sit and watch children’s television, which I find very difficult to relax to, and I can’t remember the last time I sat and read a book that didn’t rhyme or start with, ‘Once upon a time…’ I tried to do a Yoga DVD but my first attempt involved Bob rolling a wind up caterpillar over my head and my second saw her trying to stick a Christmas cracker [click here to read on]

How Many Sleeps?

Bob and I love being creative. We also love Christmas! Who doesn’t? For the last few years I have had a little wooden advent train. I bought this before Bob came along and my husband and I used to fill up alternate days for each other. Now Bob is here it’s all hers. Last Christmas my train was a bit worse for wear. The funnel had broken off and the carriages kept coming unhooked. When Hobbycraft asked if we would [click here to read on]
