Tomorrow is my 1st blogoversary! Wow! I can’t believe I have been blogging for a year! It has become such a big part of my life, which seems crazy when I think that it was something that started by accident.
I began writing for therapy and to keep me sane during Bob’s sleepless nights. I didn’t even know that the blogging world existed or what fabulous communities it contained. I wrote about Bob’s birth and I began searching for other birth stories on the Internet.
That was when I discovered mummy and daddy bloggers. There were so many of them and they were only the tip of the iceberg. I joined twitter, set up my little piece of cyberspace and never looked back!
I really enjoy blogging, as it is a wonderful way of recording our memories. I have also made some wonderful blogging friends, some that I have met in real life and some that may always be cyber friends but I feel as if I know them personally.
My little blog has also created many opportunities for me. I have reviewed products, hosted competitions and I have even made a giant inflatable sculpture! I bet there are not many people who can say that!
Through blogging I have also discovered a love of photography. I have gone from taking quick snaps with my iPhone to thinking about depth of field and shutter speed. I also love making videos! Something that I would have never found the time to do if it wasn’t for my blog.
Blogging has also given me a lot of support! Everyone has been so helpful and happy to share their knowledge and advice about parenting, blogging or which cake I should bake. I hope that I have also helped others too.
I have had many lovely comments over the year and I appreciate each and every one of them! The fact that people even take the time to read my blog, let alone comment on it, still baffles me. Thanks guys!
Now all that’s left to do is celebrate! Along with a few twitter friends I have been planning a virtual party for tomorrow night. You are all invited and I think it will be the party of the millennium! There will be virtual champagne, virtual cake, a virtual band, a virtual magician and anything else that you would like there to be!
I am also trying to persuade my husband to take us out for a meal this evening to celebrate! Well, your blog only reaches the age of one once!
