back to school photographs

I know that time passes quickly but I cannot believe how the past year has flown! It only seems like yesterday that I was walking you to school for the first time.

first day of school

On the other hand, so much has happened in the last year! You started school and became a big sister within a month! Each of those events is life changing and I was worried that it might be too much for you. You took it all in your stride and you have become a wonderful big sister and a ‘pleasure to teach’.

brother and sister fun

I can’t believe how much you have grown over the past year. You can now read and write and you are learning so much everyday! You love school and you have been looking forward to going back after the summer holidays. I know you are going to do amazingly well in Year 1. You have already been doing some Year 1 work. I was worried about the mixed classes in your school initially but they have been great for you. When the time came for the Foundation Stage children to go and choose an activity, you would often choose to join the Year 1 children whilst they did more structured work. You love to learn and I know you will never fail to amaze me!

first day in year 1

As we took some photographs before we left home we both smiled about how Bow wasn’t even here this time last year. Now it is impossible to imagine life without him! You both love each other so much and he worships his big sister! I know he is going to miss you after spending the holidays together.

brother and sister love

This morning, as we walked to school, I asked you what you were looking forward to the most. You said, ‘Seeing all of my friends and being older.’ Don’t grow up too fast baby girl!

Awh would you look ar her. She looks delighted to be starting year one, she is adorable as is your little guy. I wonder how many times she’ll change her mind about what she wants to be when she grows up. My little one wants to be a nurse, a doctor, a blogger, a hairdresser, an archaeologist, an astronaut……..

What gorgeous photos. She looks so proud and happy to be going to school. That is lovely. And it sounds like she is doing so well. Clever girl. I love the fact that she wants to be a vet when she grows up. That is very cool. I asked my pre-schooler what she wanted to be when she grew up the other day. She said a tree. It did make me laugh. Hugs Lucy xxxx

Awww this is lovely! When I was her age I wanted to be an illustrator and even though I became a scientist originally I’ve actually gone back to my art-y side now! Always listen to little you! They know best!
