Bob loves helping out in the kitchen! She obviously enjoys baking, as she takes after her mum, but she also likes to help out in general.

Every time I approach the worktop she shouts, ‘Bake!’ and starts to pull up a chair. I box her in using 2 chairs and the kitchen table and we get to work.

Sometimes I have to make jobs up to allow Bob to help. If the majority of the meal planning consists of chopping or dealing with raw meat I invent a job for Bob to do. She is very good at transferring vegetables from a bowl to a pan and then back again! 🙂

As I like to involve Bob in the kitchen it is important that our meals are easy to make. Before Bob came along I used to enjoy spending hours creating culinary masterpieces (or my version of them at least). Now I rarely get that luxury.

When I was asked if I would like to try out the Wren Kitchens recipe tool (designed for Mum’s with little time) I got very excited. I knew that Bob would love to help me with this task!

The recipe planner is easy to use. You just enter the ingredients that you have (or the ones that you would like to use) and it gives you a list of possible recipes. I told the planner that I had chicken and tomatoes, as I love chicken and Bob loves tomatoes. Many recipes appeared for me to choose from.

In the end I choose to make Chicken Stuffed With Bacon & Cheese. (This recipe was for 6 people so I halved the ingredients.) We also made some little herby roast potatoes to accompany the dish. There wasn’t much that Bob could help me with but she had fun organising the roast potatoes.

The recipe was very easy to follow and the result was delicious!

I will be turning to the recipe tool for help again.

We have been baking but not actually cooking yet. Slowly but surely we will get there!

She is an adorable chef! I’m sorry I was mesmerized by the little cutie and forgot about the potato recipe…lol! Thanks for posting! Yummy

Awww she’s looking so incredibly grown up these days! xx

That’s such a good idea. I regularly have a bunch of ingredients in the cupboard but not that many ideas about what to do with them! This would definitely mix up our menu a bit!

Ellie loves helping out, or trying to at least, with cooking as well. Great photos!
