We have been very lucky with the weather this year! We have been on several mini breaks and we have always had lovely sunshine. Even when bad weather has been forecast things have changed at the last minute.
We have just been on our main holiday to Coombe Mill, a lovely farm in Cornwall and the weather wasn’t as kind to us.
This didn’t stop us having fun! We managed a day at the beach and a lovely day at a pony centre on the fine days. When it was raining we were still happy to brave the elements.
A wonderful part of our holiday was the morning feed run. The children travelled around the farm in a tractor and trailer and helped Farmer Nick (or Farmer Kim) feed all the animals.
On the rainy mornings it would have been easy to stay in pur gorgeous lodge in front of the fire but as the feed run was great fun we were very brave! We put on our raincoats and our wellies and faced the weather with a smile!
I was very grateful for my lovely Joules wellies. As the children travelled around in style the parents followed on foot and my feet were comfy and dry the whole time. Even when we went paddling in the river!
Bob seemed to love the rain. I think it made her holiday more exciting. One day she decided to go outside without wellies. She had a wonderful time splashing around on the decking. She is much braver than I am!

I have Joules Wellies too, they are just the best here on the farm. A year later mine are still waterproof, the best ones I’ve ever had. I think they are on show on all my posts!

Any excuse and I get the Welles out. I’ve had the same pair for ten years now and I always look forward to a bit of rain to splash about in them.
I’m looking forward to rainy season! Daren’t say that too much as I’m sure I’ll be complaining about the rain in a few months. :0) x
Weirdly i just did a post on being outdoors in the park in the rain. My son can’t stay indoors for long and also seems to like the rain – do any kids really care about the weather?!
