We have had the best 2 weeks!

Our adventures began with a wonderful week at Coombe Mill. I have been following Fiona’s blog for a while now and it looked like Coombe Mill would be a wonderful place for a holiday! We all love animals and my husband loves fishing. It is also close to lovely beaches so we thought it would be perfect for us.

It was better than we imagined! Although Fiona’s blog is fabulous it can only show so much and nothing can prepare you for just how lovely it is! I have taken so many photos and some video that I will share with you over time but I still won’t be able to show you the beautiful atmosphere.

Alpacas

We stayed in a gorgeous lodge and woke up every morning to see Alpacas (or Owlpacas as Bob calls them) grazing outside our bedroom window. My husband woke up extra early some mornings to go fishing. He was in his element!

We went on the feed run most mornings which was a lovely way to start the day. Farmer Nick and Farmer Kim took us around the farm and we helped to feed all of the animals, collect eggs and cuddle the chicks.

Goats

We spent the afternoons at the beach or at one of the lovely attractions that surround Coombe Mill. Our favourite place to visit was a pony centre which I will tell you all about soon.

We then went back to the farm and enjoyed the play areas whilst we waited for the train. Bob loved the train, especially when Clio was driving!

Train

We then cooked a beautiful meal, usually involving fish and finished of with one of Fiona’s deserts. She kept filling the freezer in the shop with delicious puddings. I think our favourite was the peach and blackberry crumble. It was amazing!

Bob was asleep by 7.30 every night, she didn’t sleep through but even Coombe Mill can’t perform miracles! My husband then lit the log burner and we watched films and ate popcorn.

Fire

It was a perfect week! Thank you Coombe Mill for a wonderful holiday and thanks Fiona for making us feel so at home! If you weren’t so far away I would be visiting every week!
