One of the things that impressed me about Bluestone was the entertainment.

I have been to similar holiday parks and although they offer activities you have to pay for them. The activities aren’t cheap and if you want to book something everyday it ends up being very expensive. Bluestone offered many activities that you could pay for but they also offered free activities too.

Every evening between 5.30pm and 6.30pm they hold a kids hour in the marquee in the village square. The entertainers play games and dance along to popular songs. Bob thought this was great!

The entertainers were great with the children too! They were playing one game and Bob was trying really hard. She did everything right but an older boy was mean to her and told her she had done it wrong. Bob got upset and was afraid to play the game again. One of the entertainers noticed this and she encouraged Bob to join in. They became partners in crime for the rest of the games and Bob felt happy and reassured.

They also have characters at Bluestone. Bob loves characters and she couldn’t wait to meet them. There was Buzby Bee, Huwie the Hedgehog, Shelby Snail and Lola the Ladybird. At set times throughout the week the children could go and meet the characters. These meeting weren’t just your normal meet and greets. The characters spent an hour with the children, playing games and having fun!

We missed Buzby and Huwie as we were busy unpacking and lost track of time when Buzby was in the marquee and we had a day at the beach on Wednesday when Huwie was having fun at Camp Smokey. On the second to last day of our holiday I realised that you could go to a character breakfast. We would have loved to do this but unfortunately the breakfast didn’t happen on the last day as everyone was leaving. We will have to go back!

Bob did get to meet Shelby Snail and Lola Ladybird. She loved every minute of there sessions! I took lots of photos and I will tell you all about this at another time as it will be too much to read all in one go. I am sure that there is only so much of my waffling you can take. 🙂

Disclaimer: We were given a lodge at Bluestone free of charge but all opinions and photographs are our own.
