Fairy Cake & Cupcakes

I love making Bob’s birthday cakes! Every year I put a lot of thought into it and I really enjoy seeing my ideas come to life. I will still be making her a birthday cake when she is grown up whether she wants me to or not. 🙂 This year I couldn’t wait to make a fairy cake! I had a vision of an amazing creation with many fairies and woodland creatures but, as usual, time was a problem. There [click here to read on]

Woodland Fairy Party Food

I love making party food match the theme of a party! I was very excited about the food I was going to make for Bob’s Woodland Fairy Party. I researched ideas on Pinterest and I couldn’t wait! I was most excited about making cheese and tomato toadstools. These looked amazing and I didn’t think they sounded that difficult to make. I was wrong. You place half a cherry tomato onto a cube of cheese. That’s the easy part. You then [click here to read on]

Antiguan Fruit Cake

I will always have a soft spot for Antigua! My husband and I spent our honeymoon there and we had a wonderful time! When Betfair asked me to create a recipe using one of the countries competing in the Commonwealth Games as inspiration, I am embarrassed to admit that I didn’t know who these countries were. When I saw Antigua on the list I knew that this was the one! I tried to think of all of the things that [click here to read on]

When I was making the cake for my friends baby shower I wanted [click here to read on]

Fried Egg Cupcakes

As you may already know, Bob and I are keen bakers. We can regularly be found in the kitchen baking a masterpiece (making a mess). I am really pleased that Bob shares my love of baking! If she didn’t enjoy it I wouldn’t be able to bake as often. She regularly chooses baking as an activity. Usually I choose the easy option and use my mixer. Bob weighs the ingredients and adds them to the bowl, the mixer does the [click here to read on]

Cath Kidston Cake!

If you have seen my Ready To Pop post you will know that my oldest friend has just given birth to her first baby. I recently attended her baby shower and it was so lovely! Our friend did a fabulous job of organising it! The shower had a vintage tea party theme and I made her a Cath Kidston style cake. I made some simple icing roses to decorate the cake with. I have made complicated sugar paste roses before [click here to read on]

Ladybirds & Strawberry Flowers

Over the last few days I have been covered in icing! I’ve been making many icing creations for Bob’s 3rd birthday party. Her birthday cake is going to have a fairy centre piece, a little hedgehog and it is going to be covered in toadstools and flowers. I will show you these when I show you the finished cake. I am going to bake 2 kinds of cupcakes, chocolate ones with chocolate buttercream and plain ones topped with jam and [click here to read on]
