We recently managed to escape for our first night away without Bob in over 4 years. (For those of you that don’t know Bob has just turned 4). Now that Bob is sleeping better we are able to leave her with grandparents so we thought we had better escape before baby number 2 arrives.

We had a wonderful time! The hotel is only down the road from our village but the rooms were lovely and it is set in a lovely location.

This was the view from our room.

It took us a while to adjust to having time without Bob. My husband kept pretending she was there. Whilst we were enjoying a candle lit, romantic dinner for two Michael said, ‘Don’t blow out the candle Bob!’ He had drank quite a lot of wine. 🙂

Whilst we were there my husband was reading an information booklet and he came across an advert for a falconry experience. I pricked up my ears as my husband is so difficult to buy for! He always says that there is nothing that he wants. He then manages to think of something 2 days after the event.

Father’s Day is approaching and, as usual, I was clueless about what to buy him. The fact that he seemed so interested in falconry gave me an idea.

Into The Blue experience days offer falconry experiences nationwide. This would be a wonderful gift for Michael and one that he wouldn’t expect as he didn’t know that I was taking notes at the hotel.

We really enjoyed our time away but we did miss our little Bob. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but things were a bit too quite. She may be a pain sized pain in the bum at times but she is also a delight and constant entertainment.
