Bob loves being outdoors! In the colder months I spend hours trying to convince her that it is not the right weather for playing in her paddling pool. She then tries to convince me that the sand pit would be warmer. She can’t understand that bare feet, outside in December is not sensible attire.

The more time she spends outside the happier she is. When we lived in Nottinghamshire we would live outside during the summer months. We would spend hours playing in the garden and our meals would mainly consist of picnics and BBQs.

Bob also loves gardening. At our old house we had some raised veg beds and Bob loved helping her daddy to plant the bulbs.

Even though we have a much smaller garden now we still manage to grow a few things. By the time we moved here we didn’t have much chance to plant our vegetables as it was the wrong time of year but Bob had fun planting and taking care of flowers.

She would check on how they were growing constantly and was excited to see their progress!

Next year I would love to grow our own vegetables again! Bob loved doing that at our old house and I think it’s very important for children to know where their food comes from. I used to work in nurseries and primary schools and I was shocked at how many children when asked where potatoes came from would answer, ‘Tesco’.

Space is more of a problem at our new house so I am thinking of buying a Green House. A lean too one would be great. Green House Stores have some that are only 2 feet wide which would be perfect for our limited space.

I cannot wait to be cooking and eating our home grown vegetables again!

Little ones love messy play a lot. I spend time convincing mine about the weather too.

How amazing is that, that she loves the outdoors! I hate outdoors in the winter and my garden is looking very neglected! Bring on summer when we can enjoy it again!

Those photos of her gardening are simply adorable! I thinking loving the outdoors is to be encouraged – but maybe not the paddling pool at this time of year!
