I like mine lightly toasted, done evenly all over the slice….. and have I found a toaster that does that? Have I heck! My old gas cooker had a fabulous grill but when that was replaced the new- supposedly identical one- was rubbish. So I bought a toaster, and got half black/half white toast, or striped toast. So I got another, this one blackens one side while leaving the other barely colored. It’s become a battle each moring, me Vs the toaster… and the toaster always wins.

I like my toast done fairly well, but not burnt. If I am having Bovril or Marmite on it, I like it hot and slathered with butter, with honey or marmalade or lemon curd I like it cold with butter, and for jam, peanut butter or a mix of both, cold with spread not butter!!! Not high maintenance at all then!!!
