Road Trip

We have just returned from a lovely holiday. First we had a few days in Devon visiting friends and then we went to Haven in North Wales with my family. Considering we live in Nottinghamshire, this was quite the road trip! We usually try to find a way around driving. We worked out that adding our Wales holiday onto our Devon visit would save us 2 hours travelling than travelling each journey separately. We even looked at getting a ferry [click here to read on]

Grandmas We Love You

As it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow I have been writing cards to Grandma (my mum) and Gran (Michael’s mum). This led to me trying to explain to Bob about her immediate family tree. I have mentioned to her before that Grandma is my Mummy and Granddad is my Daddy but I don’t know if she ever grasped the concept. my thoughts were confirmed when I was writing my Mum’s Mother’s Day card. I asked Bob who Mummy Grandma was and she [click here to read on]

A Romantic Meal For 3

Before Bob came along my husband and I loved to go out for a nice meal. Now, romantic meals are a thing of the past. We do take Bob out for dinner occasionally but the situation can be quite stressful and not very relaxing. We tend to choose to have a nice meal at home or an indoor picnic. We have just been away for a few days as my husband was at a conference and Bob and I decided [click here to read on]

A Pregnant Girl's Best Friend

I was very lucky not to experience morning sickness when I was pregnant. I have had some friends that have really struggled with it, so much so that they were scared to leave the house. Unfortunately I did get horrendous acid reflux. This was so bad that it caused sickness in the last 3 months of my pregnancy and I ended up being hospitalised and pumped full of saline solution as I had keytones. I also suffered from terrible heartburn. [click here to read on]

My Perfect Valentine's Day

Before Bob came along Valentine’s Days usually involved going out for a romantic meal. Now they are much more fun! Here is how my perfect Valentine’s Day would go. 1) Wake up and exchange handmade cards. Bob would have helped me to make these the day before. 2) Spend the morning baking and decorating heart shaped cookies. You know me, any excuse to bake! 3) Cut our lunchtime sandwiches into heart shapes. Just because we can! 4) Craft something fabulous [click here to read on]

Road Safety

I have always been conscious of road safety since Bob was old enough to walk. We make a point of stopping at the side of the road even though we only get 1 car an hour down our street. Bob has now learnt the green cross code! I have no idea where she has learnt this from. I am guessing it must be CBeebies. When we reach the side of the road she now stops and says, ‘Look left, look [click here to read on]
