I love poached eggs and I always choose them when we are staying in hotels. They are something I have never dared to attempt though. My husband has put me off as he made it seem so difficult!
One morning, when we had not been together very long, Michael decided to cook breakfast for us. We were staying at his mum’s house and Michael attempted to make some poached eggs. I am not quite sure how this happened, as I know you poach eggs in a pan of water, but Michael somehow managed to burn his mum’s pan and set off the smoke alarm. As you can probably guess, we didn’t have poached eggs for breakfast that morning and I haven’t dared to attempt to poach any since.
When British Lion Eggs asked if I would like to review an egg poacher I was very excited! Maybe I would be able to have poached eggs at home after all! Bob loves eggs too and she would eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let her. Eggs make great low calorie meals and, if I could poach them at home I might be tempted to eat them 3 times a day too. 🙂
The egg poacher is very easy to use and the eggs are lovely! I prefer them to traditionally poached eggs as they are less watery.
I am still trying to perfect the cooking time. I am worried about the white still being runny so I always end up over cooking the yolk but I’m getting there.
Bob is very pleased with my new toy as it means she can eat eggs more often.
