I thought that I would post my ‘Can’t Beat The Classics’ post a day early this week as we are going to visit Peter Rabbit tomorrow. Honestly! Watch this space!

The classic that I am going to share with you this week can be found ‘Down at the bottom of the garden, among the birds and the bees!’ They are tiny, they are green and you struggle to get children to eat them. (Well Bob isn’t a fan.) No, not brussel sprouts! Peas! The Poddington Peas!!!

I was surprised when I found out that this (like last weeks featured classic) only ran for one series and that they only made 13 episodes. Feels like I watched it for years. The series was first aired in 1989, see I am still young?!? The programmes from my childhood are very recent!?! ;0)

The characters had fabulous names such as Hap-Pea, Grump-Pea and Sleep-Pea (no I’m not talking about the 7 dwarfs). There were also peas that had specific jobs such as the G-Pea and P.C. Pod. In the episode that I am about to show you, P.C. Pod acquires a Pup-Pea! Genius! Enjoy!

*I would like to dedicate this post to my friend Emily as she loves the Poddington Peas! x x x

I remember these. I have a feeling the theme tune is horribly earwormy, but thankfully I don’t actually remember how it goes!

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of this! Looks interesting!

Woah, flashback! I remember these. Cool classic.
