Bye Bye Betty!

This is Betty, my beautiful Beetle.  I loved her very much and I did not want to part with her.  Although I was ready to have a baby, I was not ready to buy a Volvo and become a Soccer Mom. Convinced that she would be plenty big enough for me once my baby came along, I went on a hunt for the smallest pram in the world!  We went to a shop and tried every pram that they stocked [click here to read on]

Let Sleeping Babies Lie

Did you sleep with your baby?  I managed to not sleep with Bob for the first week of her life.  I very cleverly sidestepped this by not sleeping! No matter how long Bob had been asleep for and how carefully I put her into her Moses basket she woke up.  I told my midwife and she came to help to try and settle her. To B or Not To B?

When people asked me if breastfeeding was painful I’d say ‘No. Not once I’d reached my second pair of nipples!’ My first literally peeled off! Before I became pregnant I would have said that I wasn’t bothered about breastfeeding. When I was expecting Bob I said that I would give it a go but that I wasn’t going to beat myself up about it. I know Bob is now 7 months old but it has taken me that long to be able to revisit what happened on the day she was born.  Still, even now, I have to remind myself that my labour wasn’t ‘the norm’; otherwise I would just sit in shock at the fact that there is a population!
