You Can't Beat The Classics!

It has been a while since I have written a Can’t Beat The Classics post. We have been very busy and I have had so many posts to write. My drafts folder is still full! As the weather has been miserable, I thought that it would be a good time to write one as we could all do with a giggle. The classic that I am going to share with you today is centred around a very famous bunch of [click here to read on]

Can't Beat The Classics

I have been wondering whether to continue with my Can’t Beat The Classics feature. Although I enjoy researching and remembering all of the old programmes I am worried that it makes my blog a bit wishy washy, as it is not about motherhood. Please let me know your thoughts. I woke up singing this theme tune this morning so I saw that as a sign to continue, at least for one more week. It is a popular classic that, I [click here to read on]

Can't Beat The Classics

I have been saving this classic as it is my favourite! (Or is it? There are too many to choose from!) Anyway, I can’t wait any longer! I love it and I still know all of the words to the theme tune! It was first shown in 1984 and it only ran for a year. I am certain that it must have been repeated as I would have only been 4 then and I remember it like it was yesterday. [click here to read on]

Can't Beat The Classics

The classic that I am going to share with you this week was first broadcast in 1979. It is about a family who relocate to the countryside. Before they even reach their accommodation they meet a peculiar fellow who lives in a field. He is made of straw and he is famous for wanting ‘A cup o’ tea an a slice o’ cake.’ That’s right, it’s Worzel Gummidge. I watched the first episode and it was much scarier than I [click here to read on]

Can't Beat The Classics!

I thought that I would post my ‘Can’t Beat The Classics’ post a day early this week as we are going to visit Peter Rabbit tomorrow. Honestly! Watch this space! The classic that I am going to share with you this week can be found ‘Down at the bottom of the garden, among the birds and the bees!’ They are tiny, they are green and you struggle to get children to eat them. (Well Bob isn’t a fan.) No, not [click here to read on]

Can't Beat The Classics

When I tell you the name of the programme that I am going to share with you this week, you will automatically think of marshmallows! Sorry, I haven’t got any of those to share. What I am going to show you is much better! This week I am going to remind you of/introduce you to a little furry family who live somewhere up north (judging by their accents). They were first shown in 1976 and, unfortunately, there was only 13 [click here to read on]

You Can't Beat The Classics!

The other day my husband and I were playing around on YouTube, showing Bob television programmes from when we were younger. We searched for the programmes as we remembered them and with each search many memories came flooding back! Television used to be fantastic! We had so much fun and I have so many programmes that I want to share with you that I thought I could make it a weekly post. For those of you my age and older,  [click here to read on]
