Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

If I am honest, we are terrible in our house when it comes to saving energy. The television is always on standby and lights are on in many rooms when they don’t need to be. I have always been terrible at turning lights off. My parents thought that Belinda Carlisle song,’Darling leave a light on for me,’ was written about me. 🙂 My husband is just as bad if not worse. A quarter of the average energy consumption in a [click here to read on]

The Breakfast Race: How To Win - Guest Post

A soft, cool breeze caresses the curtains of your room, tousles the bedcovers and seems to sweetly kiss your face, easing your eyes open and into the new day. The low, calming light of the morning is gently playing around the edges of your curtains. There’s probably soothing classical music playing in the background to tenderly welcome you to the world again. Once awake, it’s time to get everything ready for the day ahead. Mornings in a family household can [click here to read on]

The Most Important things to Consider Regarding Fostering

Foster parents and families play a very important and pivotal role when it comes to vulnerable children, and with the amount of kids and young adults in care increasing, there’s no doubt that more fosters are needed to ensure they get the care, safety and attention they deserve. Local authorities all over the UK care for over 70,000 foster children, and if you’re thinking about becoming a foster parent then there are many things to consider. A Cosy Night In

As you all probably know Bob isn’t the sleepiest of children. (See Let Sleeping Babies Lie, What I Would Really Like For Mother’s Day or one of a thousand tweets.) I have long since resigned myself to the fact that she just doesn’t need as much sleep as everyone else. Although she is still waking in the night we have had a breakthrough! Imagination

Bob’s imagination never fails to make me smile! She loves role play and small world toys as when she is in these worlds anything can happen! There are no rules to a toddler’s imagination! If I was playing with Bob’s toys my adult brain might affect the choices I made. I might choose appropriate sized toys and act out stories as we know them. Bob is much more free when she plays! Of course Cinderella can drive a car rather [click here to read on]

What To Do On New Year's Eve

Before Bob came along New Year’s was a party night. We have been to and hosted lots of lovely parties including a pyjama party. 🙂 Now we are responsible parents celebrating is not as easy. On Bob’s first New Year’s Eve we had a quite night in with a couple of friends. My insomniac baby even joined us to see the new year in. Last year as Bob was sleeping slightly better my husband and I had a romantic night [click here to read on]
