Mummy Brain

Since Bob came along I seem to forget everything that I need to do for myself. I have been meaning to pick up my prescription and my Mat B1 form for weeks but I just keep forgetting. Luckily I had a spare inhaler otherwise I would be in trouble. It took me forever to get my hair cut and it was only a few weeks ago when my reflection started to scare me that I booked an appointment. I found [click here to read on]

How To Save Money As A Family

Until recently, my husband and I have always been guilty of spending a little more than we earn. I am not sure how we got into this habit but I do know that it didn’t do us any favours and we are now paying for our careless ways. When I realised our mistake something clicked in me. I changed from a spend thrift into someone who questioned every penny. Did we actual need the item? Could we get it cheaper [click here to read on]

Our Sneaky Escape

We recently managed to escape for our first night away without Bob in over 4 years. (For those of you that don’t know Bob has just turned 4). Now that Bob is sleeping better we are able to leave her with grandparents so we thought we had better escape before baby number 2 arrives. We had a wonderful time! The hotel is only down the road from our village but the rooms were lovely and it is set in a [click here to read on]

Financial Nesting

I have never fully understood credit scoring. When my husband and I tried to apply for credit about 10 years ago the results never made sense. I was working in a job that paid slightly more than minimum wage and was surrounded by student loans and overdrafts and companies were bending over backwards, trying to lend me money. My husband had a good job, in a management position but as he had never had a loan or a credit card [click here to read on]

Keeping A Toddler Entertained On Long Journeys

When Bob was a baby she hated being in the car. Everyone told us that if your baby didn’t sleep a ride in a car would fix the problem. Not with Bob! From the moment we got in the car until we arrived at our destination she screamed. She screamed and she screamed and she screamed! Many times I have had to pull over as I couldn’t concentrate on driving with all the screaming. I would sit at the side [click here to read on]

London Calling

I can’t wait to take Bob to London again. We had a lovely time last time we visited but we didn’t manage to fit in half of the things I wanted to do. I really want to take Bob to the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. I have been when I was at primary school but I can’t remember. They are supposed to be brilliant for children and they are free! I can’t believe I haven’t visited since [click here to read on]

What to Expect During the First Ultrasound - Guest post

One of the most exciting moments in pregnancy is the initial ultrasound. It is your first glimpse at your precious baby; a small window into how they are developing. While the ultrasound can be exhilarating, it can also be a cause for anxiety. If you’ve never experienced an ultrasound before, you may find yourself asking questions such as, “What are they looking for? Are ultrasounds dangerous to my baby?” Rest assured ultrasounds are easy and safe procedures that occur daily [click here to read on]
