The Secret Fairy Village - Bluestone

We booked to go on an adventure to the Secret Fairy Village whilst we were at Bluestone Holoday Park. I am not sure who was more excited about this! I couldn’t wait to meet the hobbits and the fairies! We met Harry the Hobbit at the Adventure Centre and he told us all about the secret village and made us take the secret oath. The children chose if they would like to be a hobbit or a fairy and they [click here to read on]

Camp Smokey

After our Gruffalo Hunt in the woods Bob was getting tired. We had walked far and we were just contemplating walking back we stumbled upon a wonderful surprise! Camp Smokey! I had seen Camp Smokey on a map and assumed it was a camp site. It is much more than that! It is a wooden bar/restaurant that seemed like it would have been the perfect place to have a hoedown and drink beer (if I wasn’t pregnant). The music they [click here to read on]

A Gruffalo Hunt

Bluestone Holiday Park is surrounded by beautiful woodland. Whilst we were there it seemed silly not to go on an adventure. Bob enjoys walking in the woods but she ‘tired legs’ quite quickly. If she has something to keep her occupied she can walk much further. I tend to make up a scenario for our walk. Recently we went on an Easter Bunny hunt. Throughout the woods the Easter Bunny had left little chocolate rabbits (or my nephew had run [click here to read on]

Swimming With Shelby Snail

Bob loves swimming! Our recent holiday to Bluestone has made us realise that we need to take her more often! We went swimming everyday! One day, we had been at the beach and we didn’t get back to the park until late afternoon. We put the kettle on and sat down but Bob was having none of it! ‘We need to go swimming now,’ she said, as she packed her swimming bag. We didn’t mind as the pool was lovely! Fun For Children - Bluestone

One of the things that impressed me about Bluestone was the entertainment. I have been to similar holiday parks and although they offer activities you have to pay for them. The activities aren’t cheap and if you want to book something everyday it ends up being very expensive. Bluestone offered many activities that you could pay for but they also offered free activities too. Every evening between 5.30pm and 6.30pm they hold a kids hour in the marquee in the [click here to read on]

Bluestone National Park

Last week we had a wonderful holiday at Bluestone National Park in Wales. Our friend Kiney came too. It took us over 5 hours to get there but it was well worth the trip! We had a wonderful lodge called the Caldey Connect. It was two lodges in fact with an interconnecting door. This meant that Bob didn’t disturb Kiney in the morning and it would be a perfect lodge for 2 families on holiday together. A travel cot and [click here to read on]

Our Secret Seeds

To celebrate their 70th anniversary Spading Bulb have sent us a box of mystery seeds. Bob couldn’t wait to plant them! We bought some gardening tools especially for the occasion and got to work. I let Bob take control of the activity. She chose which bulbs to plant and where to plant them. Sally supervised. I have just reread the original e mail and realised that some of the seeds could be be flowers but some might be vegetables. I [click here to read on]
