Pregnancy Diaries - 30 Weeks

Written on the 20th July We didn’t think we would get to go away this year. Times have been hard and my husband has been working ridiculous hours! There are times when I felt like a 7 month pregnant single parent. Bob’s behaviour has been challenging and I wondered if she showing signs of behaviour that is common when parents separate. Michael was leaving before she got up in a morning and not getting home until after she had gone [click here to read on]

Share A Smile - Starting School

My baby girl started school on Wednesday and, although it made me sad at the time, it is definitely a reason to smile. She is growing into a wonderful little lady and she makes me proud every day! I think she is enjoying her new school. She is happy to go back the next day so I am taking that as a good sign. She hasn’t told me much about her days. On Wednesday she told me what she had [click here to read on]

The Size Of A Cucumber

Pregnancy Catch Up 29 weeks pregnant – Our baby is the size of a cucumber I know that the fruit and vegetable comparisons are just a guideline and they can based on weight or length. I know that they don’t always make sense but that didn’t stop me being baffled by this week’s comparison. How can my baby be the size of a cucumber? How would it fit? I was even more shocked to learn that this comparison isn’t even [click here to read on]

Pregnancy Diaries - 29 Weeks

Written on the 13th July On Tuesday I went for the glucose intolerance test. They didn’t test me for gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with Bob. Four years ago the people in my family that had diabetes were over a certain age. Now my sister has it and, as she is still a spring chicken, they said I would have to be tested. I was dreading the drink that the give you as I had heard it was awful! [click here to read on]

Tiny Dancer

Bob has been going to ballet lessons since January and she loves it! She has already moved up 2 classes and when her lessons start again in the summer she will be in a class that will take part in the dance shows. She cannot wait! She has been asking if she can go to tap lessons for several months. I told her if she continued with her ballet lessons and still enjoyed them that she could also start tap [click here to read on]

To My Baby Girl On Your 1st Day Of School

Today you started Primary School. This is such a big milestone in your life! I couldn’t help thinking how small you looked when you put on your uniform! This wasn’t helped by the fact that your age 4 pinafore dress looked so big on you! You must have been keen to go to school as you awoke at 4am. Luckily you went back to sleep for 2 hours, otherwise I am not sure you would have made it through the [click here to read on]

The Size Of An Aubergine

Pregnancy Catch Up 28 weeks pregnant – Our baby is the size of an aubergine This week’s vegetable makes me smile. We eat aubergine occassionally but when I hear it’s name it makes me laugh. When I was younger this vegetable was responsible for me mixing up song lyrics and embarrassing myself. I love Elton John and I thought I knew most of the words to his songs. Unfortunately I didn’t realise that Marilyn Monroe’s real name was Norma Jean. [click here to read on]
