I have always thought that camera bags were a bit ugly. They are practical but they don’t really add to an outfit. I usually make my husband carry mine if we are at a special occasion which I am sure he loves!
Then one day I noticed people talking about girls camera bags on twitter. I got quite excited and started searching the Internet. I was soon disappointed. Yes the bags were lovely but they were also very expensive! I knew that I would never be allowed one.
Instead of getting a camera bag that looked like a handbag I have been trying to find a handbag that would work as a camera bag. I have searched various stores with my camera in hand and tried to stuff it into several bags but I haven’t had much luck.
When I was asked if I would like to review some products from Debenhams I started online shopping (it’s my favourite kind). I came across a Nica tote bag that looked like it was perfect. It was hard to be sure as I couldn’t put my camera in it over the Internet but I ordered it and crossed my fingers. When it arrived it was perfect!
It has a middle zip pocket in which my purse and my camera fit snuggly side by side. There is an inner zip for my iPhone and my remote control fits perfectly in the phone pocket. There are also two outer pockets, one which I keep my bits and bobs in and the other I put Bob’s wipes and pull ups in.
There may not be specific compartments like in the posh girls camera bags but this works really well! The camera can’t get damaged as it fits snuggly in place and it is surrounded by padded thanks to the outer compartments. I absolutely love it!
Debenhams also sent me a beautiful dress. I am hoping this maybe the turning point from scummy to yummy mummy. Hopefully it will last!
Apologies for the dodgy photo! My husband isn’t great with a camera and I am not photogenic.
